What's Next?

Existing Market.

What is Next?
In terms of what is next for the dam monitoring system, I believe after implementing this product, constant upgrading will be part of the package. Water is a powerful element that breaks down materials like concrete so this system will need maintenance.
Reflection-
After some thought, I realized that this idea was very specific to the location and affected areas. In the future, I would want the company to branch out to other levy systems in the country and also worldwide. A successful levy monitoring system would give the company recognition with other local and state governments and would make it easier to pitch to other structures.

New Market.
I would like the company to enter the market of other monitoring systems like dams, bridges, and other structures. This is not a radically different market, the steps to getting those contracts would be similar (local, state, or federal governments) but is still within our wheelhouse without having to sacrifice what our company was created to do.
Reflection-
Being able to use the same or similar technology to create safe spaces for communities is what the company is based on. We are not just in the business of levies in the Midwest like we started. In the end, it would be a goal to become the “household name” for structure monitoring systems.

  1. Hi Orlantha! Very insightful post, factoring in upkeep and maintenance for the dam monitoring system is essential so the same problem currently happening doesn't replicate. In addition, by being realistic with your potential input costs, you are already minimizing risk of unexpected expenses piling up. I also thought your new market presents a great way for you to expand your business and attract more clients!
