Final Reflection

My experiences with this class have been mostly positive ones. Quarantine aside, this class has helped me be more comfortable with selling, whether it was selling myself with my positive attributes or selling a product or business idea. In the past, I tried to avoid elevator speeches and determined that the employer who wanted me would see through a silly memorized speech and there was more to being candid with someone. I still believe in being candid but I can also prepare certain elevator snip-its instead. The assignment that sticks out the most would be knowing your worth. Asking some of my oldest friends what they thought of me was at first embarrassing. I found myself apologizing for wasting their time for an assignment. However, by the 3 rd person I realized that they were happy to do this for me and really enjoyed talking about me and how I affected their lives. Honestly, it was nice to hear! Venture Concept No.2

Venture Concept Write Up 1)       Opportunity- The opportunity I have identified was the effects of global warming, which resulted in extreme flooding in the Midwest region. The current levy system has shown minimally acceptable tolerances and require upgrades after large storms, extreme weather (hot or cool weather), and expected wear from wind and snow. The identified customers are the local and state governments along with the Army Corps of Engineers who manage the current levy system. This opportunity focuses on the government sector in the Midwest states, specifically around the Missouri River. It will also directly affect the communities in the surrounding area. Currently, communities will prepare for large storms by packing sand bags and moving seed planting times to after the “wet season.” The Army Corps of Engineers currently completes manual inspections along the levies and systematically renovates them.
