What’s Your Secret Sauce?


The five ways that make me truly unique:
My ethnic background-Since I am first generation I am able to connect with those from other countries and cultures as well as the “Western World.”
I have a varied set of interests which include science & technology, music, movies, food, and travel which I enjoy learning about.
I have a constant urge to learn new skills, if I read or hear something I don’t know about I enjoy learning about new things.
I enjoy solving problems, whether at school or work I like to solve concerns or issues with innovative thinking.
I have a constant need to improve whether it is a life skill like cooking or a new skill like rock climbing

Interview Questions:
Who are you and how long have you known me?
In General, what is the most important skills that someone should have that adds to their human capital.
If you could describe me in 1 characteristic what would it be?
What would you consider to be my most beneficial skill?
Is there any event you can recall me using my human capital?

Celeste, best friend for 21 years. Best qualities are well rounded and skilled in certain topics.
Tina, friend for 18 years. Best qualities include communication.
Mary Lynn, friend for 18 years. Best qualities connect to people.
Kayla, friend for 3.5 years. Best qualities teamwork and collaboration
Damola, friend for 3.5 years. Best qualities encompassing human connection

Reflection: I used this exercise to determine what makes me unique. I consider myself to be a very social person but I explained my five ways of human capital as the rationale behind how I can socialize with people, whether it was talking about a new restaurant or my favorite places to travel. Those that I interviewed saw that my social skills were also my biggest strength and explained how I used this skill to connect people to each other, as well as form long term connections.

    Great post! I am also a first-generation college student and can attest that having the ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds can really help in broadening your network. These close connections can one day become useful, should you choose to start your own business. Your interviews also made it clear that you are good at communication and collaboration, which are also essential qualities in entrepreneurship. All in all, I believe your secret sauce has some fundamental qualities that can really help you in a potential business in the future!
